The Nutbrook Trail

The Nutbrook Trail is for equal use by pedestrians and cyclists. The whole of the section of the Nutbrook Trail that passes through Shipley Country Park can be used by walkers, cyclists and horse riders.

Morley Hayes

The Morley countryside, woods and fields are between 5 and 7 kms.  We walk together as a group for about an hour and a half.  They are all very different; Bluebell carpets in our woods in May, Autumn colours and a talk about the trees and the conservation program that Morley Hayes is running in October.

Hermits Cave at Dale Abbey

The village of Dale Abbey in the southeast of Derbyshire was originally an area known as Depedale. It was renamed after the monastery was founded in the 13th century, but the first religious occupation of this spiritual site was actually by a solitary hermit in the early 1100s.

Bennerley Viaduct

Bennerley Viaduct is a grade 2* listed railway viaduct built in 1877 by the Great Northern Railway Company. At over quarter of a mile long, it is the longest wrought iron viaduct in the country. It straddles the River Erewash connecting Ilkeston in Derbyshire with Awsworth in Nottinghamshire.

Calke Abbey
